Double Date text messages
Program: Double Date. It's a private, invite-only service that pairs couples among friends for weekend get-togethers. Texts are sent by Cortex, a registered messaging service, and identify themselves as Cortex Double Date.
How people opt in
- The organizer adds a friend to the list and texts them a personal invite link from their own phone. That first text is person-to-person, not sent by this program.
- The friend opens the link. On the welcome page, an unchecked box reads: “Text me about Double Date: matches, plans and sign-in codes. Message frequency varies, usually 1–6 texts a month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not required to use Double Date.”
- If they check the box, we text a 6-digit code to confirm the number. Texts start only after the code is entered.
- Texts can be turned on or off at any time under Settings.
What we send
- Match notices, for example: “Cortex Double Date: Sam, you're matched with Alex & Jordan for Saturday, Nov 7! Reach them at: Alex (555) 010-0101, Jordan (555) 010-0102. Reply STOP to opt out.”
